TASK 1 General

• [ ] define the style of the letter: formal, semi-formal, informal
• [ ] follow the structure: greeting - the reason for writing a letter - details (bullet points - 3 short paragraphs) - closing
• [ ] greeting and closing based on the style
• formal: Dear Sir/Madam, …. - Yours faithfully, full name
• semi-formal: Dear Mr/Ms Last Name/Full name, … - Yours sincerely, full name
• informal: Dear Name, … - Best wishes/regards, / Take care, name
• [ ] reason for writing: I’m writing about…/I’m writing with regards to…
• [ ] no contractions (don’t, can’t) in a formal letter; they are acceptable in informal and semi-formal ones
• [ ] adapt the language to the style
• [ ] use less common synonyms for simple words (like = be into, enjoy, adore, etc.; important = crucial; think = from my point of view; etc.)
• [ ] provide specific details based on the topic
• [ ] mention all bullet points

TASK 1 Academic

• [ ] follow the structure: paraphrasing the task - overview - details - details
• [ ] no details in the overview
• [ ] no opinion
